Niacinamides, also known as vitamin B3 or nicotinamide, help to strengthen the skin barrier by increasing the production of ceramides. This protects the skin from moisture loss and environmental stress. Niacinamide is also known to reduce hyperpigmentation and even skin tone by inhibiting melanin production. It also stimulates collagen production to minimise wrinkles and lines for an all-round more harmonious complexion.

Ceramides are a natural component of the skin and diminish over time, weakening the skin barrier and making the skin more susceptible to external sources of irritation. The ceramide complex it contains has a significant protective function for the skin by supplying the skin with essential elements, promoting cell renewal and thus supporting the restoration and maintenance of an intact barrier function. In addition, ceramides ensure a balanced moisture content through their ability to bind water and thus protect against transepidermal water loss.

The mechanisms of action of niacinamides in combination with ceramides restore the balance of stressed skin and improve skin regeneration and texture. Irritations and redness are soothed and the skin is more resistant and even.
