The most current generation of BABOR’s exclusive BIOGEN PLANT EXTRACT includes a novel composition of medicinal herbs that have been known for centuries for their holistic, restorative, and revitalizing properties and have been very important in various natural healing practices worldwide even before the brand was founded in 1955 by Dr. Michael Babor. Based on the deeply rooted belief in BABOR’s DNA that biogenic substances, or substances stemming from nature, can achieve groundbreaking results with the greatest respect for the skin, eight potent plants from different plant species and the world’s most remote regions were combined: The growth of these plants in various environmental and climatic conditions gave way to a very diverse composition of active ingredients, such as polyphenols, terpenes, or flavonoids. This combination of 15% different highly effective and skin-stimulating plant ingredients gives the BIOGEN PLANT EXTRACT a unique and transformative effect.
ROSEMARY is native to the Mediterranean, grows in Southern Europe, and is farmed around the globe. Its stimulating and antiseptic properties mean it is used as a medicinal plant by Central European and Mediterranean cultures.
FIGWORT is used in traditional medicine for skin problems, such as eczema, itchiness, and psoriasis, by applying it directly to the affected areas. The extract helps to soothe the skin and restore its balance.

WATERCRESS is a resilient perennial plant with shoots ranging up to 90 cm long that spread out in all directions. It is known for stimulating, cleansing, and strengthening the skin.
FUMARIA frequently grows as weeds in fields, orchards, and vineyards. It has been used for medicinal as well as cosmetic purposes since ancient times. Clinical studies show it has a positive effect on psoriasis.
Agrimonia eupatoria L., commonly known as AGRIMONY, belongs to the rose family and grows in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America on hillsides, roadsides, in rocky areas, dry grasslands, and arid forests. Agrimony has long been appreciated as a medicinal plant and is famous for its anti-oxidative and antimicrobial properties.

The other hyperfermented plants (3%), consisting of myrtle and mastic (also known as Atlas pistachio) are typical plants found in Mediterranean vegetation and parts of the Italian island Sardinia that is known for its remarkable biodiversity. Studies have shown that these hyperfermented plants boost the skin’s defenses, positively regulate the microbiome of the skin, promote skin moisture, and improve the hydrolipidic layer. It also promotes skin-firming processes that improve the bond between the epidermis and the dermis. At the same time, they positively influence the synthesis of collagen Type 1 and Type 3, which play a vital role in regenerating particularly stressed skin.
The hydrolyzed lupine protein, made up of 100% sweet white lupine peptides, is sustainably farmed in France and promotes the synthesis of collagen for different collagen types, including collagen Type 1 and Type 3, which play an integral part in rejuvenating particularly stressed skin. At the same time, it is a line of defense against the glycation of collagen and its degradation. That is why it helps skin stay plump, tight, and elastic.
